Whether the victory in this passage was over Satan; whether the victory had reference to Sheol, Hades or the grave; or whether the victory was over sin and death, we recognize that Jesus Christ did enter into conflict with all of these, and He was the victor over all. Because Jesus Christ is victor, He has the right to distribute the spoils that He has gained in His victory.
